A Message From the Director
Welcome to the Henry Mancini Academy! I am thrilled to have joined the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center last September, taking over as the new Director of the Mancini Academy. After years in New York, it is wonderful to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh, bringing my extensive experience as a performer and arts educator to the Lincoln Park community. I’m eager for you to join us in our scheduled curriculum for the fall, as well as for the special programs, master classes and workshops we have planned.
Our experienced, professional faculty provide the finest dance, voice and acting training in a positive, challenging and nurturing environment. We are a place where students ages three to adult can discover their own unique potential through creative artistic expression. We are dedicated to the development of not only strong musical theater performers, but more importantly, strong, responsible, happy people.
In combination with providing the highest quality of training for our students, it is my belief that opportunities for stage performance are an integral part of the development of musical theater performers. That is why we will be offering a Performance Project each semester, as well as in our summer camps. Our spring 2017 production of Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids marked the beginning of this effort, and it was an overwhelming success. We look forward to watching our student performers take the stage by storm again this fall, in a musical review of selections from hit Broadway shows, as well as continuing to offer opportunities for them to perform at various events and functions throughout the community. I am particularly proud of this element of our programming, as it not only affords our students additional performance avenues, but it also fosters a sense of community and commitment to others, which speaks to the core mission of the Henry Mancini Academy and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
Whether your child longs to meet friends who share in their love of singing, dancing and acting, or they are hoping to work with like-minded professionals who can guide them in their pursuit of a career in musical theater, the Henry Mancini Academy is a welcome home for them.
If you are new to our program, welcome to the family! If you are one of our treasured returning families, thank you for your continued support of the Henry Mancini Academy at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
Come and experience for yourself why we consider our program the premier program for the far west of Pennsylvania, the east of Ohio and the north of West Virginia. Meet our faculty, experience a sample class and take a tour of the multi-million dollar facility that is our home. If you like what you see become part of our family!
