Henry Mancini Arts Academy

Message From The Director

Krista Shovlin<

Dear Parents and Students:

The Henry Mancini Arts Academy is a no-recital, no-competition school that stresses the importance of process over product.  In an effort to provide the highest quality education to our students, we have decided to focus our efforts on true technique and the development of personal skills.  Instead of producing an end-of-the-year showcase, we have decided to eliminate stress from the students and their parents by performing small, informal concerts during the final week of the Spring Semester in Lincoln Park's Studio Theater.  The students and parents who participated in a similar effort last year found this performance opportunity much more rewarding and extremely less time-consuming with no extra expenses or rehearsal times.

As you browse our class offerings, you will notice a few new enhancements for the coming year.  We have added a Stage Movement class, something that you will not find at other area schools; a great supplement to our Acting classes.  Also new to HMAA this year is Musical Theatre Workshop, which will culminate with the performance of a Broadway Jr. Musical.  Musical Theater Workshop must be taken in conjunction with the Musical Theatre Package.  We are also preparing many exciting Workshops and Master Classes that will occur throughout the year not only for our students, but parents and other family members as well.  Information on those opportunities will be available at our sign-in desk, on our web site and on our Facebook page.

Our entire staff looks forward to instilling, in your child, the responsibility and work ethic required for Broadway, or any other career.

Thank you for choosing the Henry Mancini Arts Academy!
